A slid bearing can be described as a machine component whose purpose is to steer and support a shaft and make its movement possible. A bearing does not always need to be cylindrical, there are also glide rails, sliding plates, thrust washers etc. Slide bearings are suitable when the movements are slow and the loading high, however, there are also types of slide bearing that are suitable for other speeds and loads. The movement can be radial or axial or a combination of these.
