Characteristics
Description The RBT bearing is a stainless steel three-layer bearing consisting of a steel mantle and a sintered bronze middle layer that is impregnated and coated with a PTFE/lead mixture. The RBT bearing is primarily intended for oscillatory motions and bearing installations where frequent stop-start occurs.
The friction coefficient is very low and therefore the RBT bearing can be used without lubrication. The RBT bearing has good chemical resistance to the most common substances. The thin layer that constitutes the bearing’s surface, should be well protected to avoid damage during assembly and from heat e.g. from welding. This slide bearing normally has to be ordered.
Lubrication The RBT bearing is primarily intended to be used without lubrication. If initial lubrication does take place then additional lubrication is also recommended. Additional lubrication can be also recommended to prevent corrosion of the shaft material. Greases with additives of graphite or molybdenum disulphide should be avoided.
Tolerance Seat H7, recommended shaft tolerance f7 for shafts up to 75 mm. Over 75 mm we recommend h8.
