General characteristics
Description D&E Trading’s multilayer bearings are available in a wide range of designs. For all of them a thin sliding layer acts as the running surface of the bearing, while the remaining layer(s) act as a mantle. The bearing can be built up of either 2 or 3 layers depending on the desired characteristics.
Generally, this type of bearing is almost maintenance free, and they have very low friction and high temperature resistance.
The self-lubricating character provides great freedom during construction as the bearing can be built in, in a completely different fashion to that required by other bearings.
Lubrication Multilayer bearings do not normally require additional lubrication. However, it is recommended that the bearings be always initially lubricated during assembly.
Tolerance Varies depending on the product. In general, Seat H6/H7, recommended shaft tolerance f7 or h8
