General characteristics
Description
Turned bearings are always manufactured according to the customer's drawings. In this way, the bearing can be shaped as required to meet the individual design requirements. The shape of the lubricating groove, the number of holes, the tolerances and chamfer can be manufactured wholly in accordance with the customer's wishes.
Turned slide bearings often have a technical and economic advantage, thanks to the high loading capacity, low weight, good corrosion resistance and small radial dimensionally requirements for installation, provided that the installation is carried out with the right combination of materials and sufficient supply of lubricant.
Turned bearings and bearing components can be supplied in many different copper alloys. The material is always chosen to suit the requirements set by the design and provide the optimum performance, in terms of operating time, maintenance and total economy.
Lubrication
Turned bearings in copper alloy are intended for additional lubrication. The need for additional lubrication varies depending on the material and the bearing conditions. The shape of the lubricating groove, choice of lubricant and the bearing conditions general influence how the additional lubrication shall be regulated. With the right choice of materials and design, turned bearings can also be used with relatively long periods between lubrications.
Tolerance
Compared with rolled thin-walled slide bearings, turned bearings can be manufactured with significantly tighter tolerances. The tolerances can be chosen to meet the design requirements. In this way, the play achieved in the bearing is suitable for the design.
Special Designs
• Internal and external lubricating grooves
• Lubricating holes
• Plane bearings and washers
• Guide rails
• Bearing halves
